Leaving the coast, this stage enters into the interior of Galicia. The route is a continuous ascent to the mountains, with a landscape that becomes more mountainous and rural. It's a day of great beauty and physical demand. Arrival in Mondoñedo, one of the ancient capitals of the Kingdom of Galicia, with its impressive cathedral, is a monumental final stage. This stage requires good physical preparation but rewards with a first-class destination.
The Ribadeo to Mondoñedo stage is a 34-kilometer long journey that ventures into the interior of Galicia. The route starts in Ribadeo (20 m) and follows an ascending profile, with the climb up to the mountain range as its main challenge. The route traverses a beautiful landscape, with oak and eucalyptus forests. It is an demanding hike that requires good physical preparation. Arrival at Mondoñedo (140 m), one of Galicia's ancient capitals, is a monumental final stage. Its impressive cathedral is a masterpiece of architecture. This stage combines a great physical challenge with the beauty of the mountains and a finish in a town offering rich cultural and gastronomic offerings.
