Stage Description

This long stage ventures into the heart of the White Périgord, famous for its limestone rock. The route is demanding, with an undulating profile and a landscape of forests, hills and valleys. It's a journey to enjoy nature and solitude on the trail. Arrival in Périgueux, the capital of Périgord, with its impressive Byzantine Saint-Front cathedral, UNESCO World Heritage Site, and Roman ruins, is a monumental final stage. This stage requires good physical preparation but rewards with a first-class destination.
The Thiviers to Périgueux stage is a 35km long journey that enters the heart of White Périgord. The route starts in Thiviers (220m) and follows a mainly descending profile, with some undulations, until the city of Périgueux (100m). The route passes through a beautiful landscape, with forests, hills and valleys. It is an demanding walk due to its length, but it rewards with the beauty of its scenery and the grandeur of the destination. Arrival in Périgueux is a moment of great emotion. The city, with its impressive Byzantine Saint-Front cathedral, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and its Roman ruins, is a architectural gem. Its heritage and lively atmosphere make it one of the most important stops on the route. It is a demanding stage that is rewarded with a monumental finish.
