Stage Description

This is a short and gentle phase that enters the Miners' Basins of Asturias. The route is a transition from mountain landscape to an industrial and populated environment. The trail follows the Caudal River valley in a pleasant walk with hardly any inclines. The road passes by old mining installations and working-class neighborhoods, which testify to the importance of coal mining in the region's history. Arrival at Mieres, one of the leading mining villages, offers a view of industrial and working Asturias. This is a very culturally interesting phase.
