Stage Description
At this stage of the Winter Way, the pilgrim diverges from the French Way to follow the course of the Sil River. The route is of exceptional beauty, traversing the narrow valley of Sil with its vineyard-covered slopes. The path winds through undulating terrain, passing by small villages and offering spectacular views of the river and surrounding mountains. It's a visual journey through the O Bierzo region, an area of transition between landscapes and microclimates. The final day ends in O Barco de Valdeorras, the capital of the region, a major service center famous for its wines with Denomination of Origin. This stage is a precursor to the natural wealth and gastronomic riches that await in Galician lands.
