Stage Description
This stage follows the course of the Canal of Castile, an impressive 18th-century engineering work. The route is completely flat and very pleasant. It's a day to enjoy the tranquility of the water and the fauna of the canal. The arrival in Carrión de los Condes, a city with a rich Romanesque heritage and great pilgrim atmosphere, is a monumental final stage. It's a journey that combines nature and history in an unique environment.
The Frómista to Carrión de los Condes stage is a 19 km journey that follows the course of the Castile Canal. The path starts in Frómista (780 m) and follows a mostly flat profile, with a gentle ascent towards Carrión de los Condes (800 m). The route passes through a beautiful landscape, following part of the canal's course. It is an enjoyable walk that allows you to enjoy the scenery and the tranquility of the surroundings. Arrival in Carrión de los Condes, a city with a rich Romanesque heritage and a large pilgrim atmosphere, is a monumental final stage. This stage combines gentle exercise with rich historical experience, a perfect balance on the French Way.
