Stage Description
This stage follows the course of the Canal of Castile, an impressive 18th-century engineering work. The route is completely flat and very pleasant. It's a day to enjoy the tranquility of the water and the fauna of the canal. The arrival in Carrión de los Condes, a city with a rich Romanesque heritage and great pilgrim atmosphere, is a monumental final stage. It's a journey that combines nature and history in an unique environment.
La etapa de Saintes a Pons es una jornada que se adentra en la región de la Saintonge. El camino parte de Saintes y sigue un perfil ondulado, con un suave ascenso hacia Pons. La ruta atraviesa un paisaje de gran belleza, con viñedos que producen el famoso coñac. Es una caminata agradable, que permite disfrutar del paisaje y de la tranquilidad del entorno. La llegada a Pons, una ciudad medieval dominada por su imponente torre del homenaje, es un final de etapa con encanto. Es una etapa que combina un suave ejercicio con una rica experiencia histórica, un perfecto equilibrio en la Vía Turonensis.
