Stage Description

This is a high mountain stage that crosses the Ernici Mountains. It's an demanding day, with considerable elevation gain and a solitary yet spectacular landscape. The trail passes through alpine forests and meadows, offering a total immersion in nature. Arrival at Collepardo, a medieval village in a beautiful setting, opens up to the natural wonders of its caves and the spirituality of the Cartuja di Trisulti. It's a stage for experienced walkers and mountain lovers.
The Trevi in Lazio to Collepardo stage is a 21.6 km journey that crosses the Ernici Mountains. The trail starts at Trevi in Lazio (821 m) and faces a high mountain profile, with continuous ascent that exceeds 1,300 meters of altitude. The route passes through an impressive landscape, with dense forests, deep valleys, and panoramic views that disappear into the horizon. It's a very solitary journey that requires excellent physical preparation and good planning. The wild beauty of the surroundings is the great reward for the effort. After conquering the pass, it begins a long descent to Collepardo (586 m). This town, located in a valley, is famous for its caves and the nearby Trisulti Cartuja, an impressive monastery in a secluded spot. It's an epic stage that puts the pilgrim's limits to the test but leaves an unforgettable mark due to its beauty and wild character.
