Stage Description

Long stage through the Sierra Morena towards the Pedroches Valley, a region of Cordoba with a great tradition of livestock and olive groves. The 34 km of the route crosses immense pastures with holm oak groves, livestock and views of the Sierra de la Morenilla. Alcaracejos is one of the main towns of Los Pedroches, a region famous for its acorn-fed Iberian ham (P.D.O. Los Pedroches) and the largest continuous dehesa in Europe.
This long stage enters the Valley of Pedroches, a vast grassland plain. The route is an ongoing up and down through a landscape of great beauty. It's an demanding but rewarding journey. Arrival in Alcaracejos, a village with a strong cattle tradition, is well-deserved rest. This stage puts the pilgrim to the test of endurance, but rewards it with the beauty of the landscape and the tranquility of the surroundings.
