Combra, the former capital of Portugal in the Middle Ages, is one of the most emblematic and culturally vibrant stops on the Portuguese Way. The city, majestically rising above the Mondego River, is dominated by its prestigious University, one of Europe's oldest and declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its Joanina Library, in baroque style, is a bibliographical gem that leaves breathless. For pilgrims, Combra is an oasis of history, art, and knowledge.
