First stage of the Spiritual Variant of the Portuguese Way. After leaving Pontevedra through the monastery of San Xoán de Poio, the route deviates from the central route and follows the banks of the estuary to Combarro, one of the most photogenic fishing villages of the Rías Baixas, famous for its hórreos by the sea. From there, the road enters the mountains of Salnés with a continuous and sustained ascent to the Cistercian monastery of Santa María de A Armenteira, founded in the 12th century. The stage is about 21 km long, with an undulating profile and a demanding final stretch. The landscape combines sea, granaries, Albariño vineyards and Atlantic forest of oak and eucalyptus trees.

Second stage of the Spiritual Variant, considered one of the most beautiful of the entire Camino. After leaving the monastery of A Armenteira, the route descends along the Ruta da Pedra e da Auga, an interpretive trail that follows the course of the Armenteira River for several kilometers passing by more than fifty old flour mills, fulling mills and riverside forests. After the descent, the path crosses the vineyards of the Salnés valley, the cradle of Albariño wine, and reaches the coast at Vilanova de Arousa, a fishing village on the banks of the Arousa estuary. About 24 km of route with a steep descent at the beginning and a smooth profile in the second half.

Last stage of the Spiritual Variant, associated with the Translatio: the Jacobean tradition tells that the body of the apostle Santiago was brought from Jaffa to Iria Flavia (Padrón) sailing precisely these waters. There are two options to complete the day: the **maritime crossing** Vilanova de Arousa → Pontecesures (about 28 km of estuary with stops at the maritime crossroads of the fluvial Via Crucis, the only maritime procession in the world) followed by a short stretch on foot to Padrón; or the **complete pedestrian route** along the east bank of the estuary passing through Catoira and Pontecesures (about 33 km on foot). The GPX track included is the complete terrestrial itinerary. End in Padrón, where, according to tradition, the disciples moored the boat to the stone that gives its name to the village.

Etapa final, corta en kilómetros pero con más desnivel del que aparenta, porque Santiago se alcanza subiendo. El recorrido sale de Padrón por Iria Flavia, antigua sede episcopal donde reposa Camilo José Cela, y pasa junto al santuario de A Escravitude, uno de los conjuntos barrocos más bellos del Camino Portugués. A partir de ahí el trazado gana altura de forma sostenida por Teo y Rúa de Francos, entre bosques de eucalipto y carballos, hasta encadenar el repecho de O Milladoiro. Superado ese último esfuerzo aparece la ciudad y comienza el descenso hacia el casco histórico. La entrada se hace por la Porta Faxeira y la rúa do Franco hasta desembocar en la Praza do Obradoiro, con la fachada de la catedral cerrando el viaje.
