Stage of the Camino
Stage Description
A stage that links Amboise with Tours, historic capital of Touraine and a centre of pilgrimage to the tomb of San Martín de Tours. Some 24 km skirt the Loira before entering Tours through the Plumereau quarter. Tours is home to the Basílica de San Martín (with the saint's crypt and treasury), the Gothic cathedral of Saint-Gatien and an old quarter of medieval half-timbered houses. The place that gives the Via Turonensis its name.
