Stage Description
The final stage of the Via Podiensis (Le Puy) before Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port. Some 21 km cross la Soule and la Basse-Navarre through the heart of the French Basque Country (Pays Basque). Ostabat is the 'Capital of the Caminos', being the historic meeting point of the three great French ways (Tours, Vezelay and Le Puy), the prelude to the crossing of the Pyrenees to Roncesvalles by the Roncevaux route.
