This stage is an on-going rise and fall through the hills preceding Bilbao. It's a demanding but beautiful day. The route goes through a rural and solitary landscape that contrasts with the approaching big city. Arrival in Lezama, a small village in the Asua valley, is a tranquil end of stage. It's a transition day that prepares for entry into Vizcayan capital.
The Gernika-Lumo to Lezama stage is a 21km journey that ventures into the hills preceding Bilbao. The route starts in Gernika-Lumo (10m) and follows an undulating profile, with a gentle ascent towards Lezama (50m). The route traverses a rural and solitary landscape, contrasting with the approaching large city. It is a pleasant walk that allows you to enjoy the scenery and the tranquility of the surroundings. The arrival in Lezama, a small village in the Asua valley, is a peaceful stage end. This stage combines gentle exercise with rich historical experience, a perfect balance on the North Way.
