Stage of the Camino

Stage Description

This stage is much more comfortable than the previous one, with a predominantly descending profile. From the Bruma plateau, the path begins a gentle descent through a rural landscape of meadows, forests and small villages. It's an enjoyable and quick journey that allows the pilgrim to enjoy the tranquility of Galician countryside. The route passes through several rural nuclei such as O Seixo and A Calle, before arriving at Sigüeiro, by the Tambre River, which is the capital of Oroso's concello and a modern village with all services, being the last major stop before reaching Santiago de Compostela.
After the hard day before, the stage from Bruma to Sigüeiro is an enjoyable break for the pilgrim. The profile is very favorable, with a general descending trend that allows comfortable and fluid walking. The route runs through a typically Galician landscape, alternating shaded dirt tracks through oak and eucalyptus forests with tranquil local roads that connect small villages. It passes by places like O Seixo, with its San Paio church, and A Rúa. This is an stage to enjoy the scenery, the sound of streams, and the peace of rural surroundings. As the journey progresses, the descent becomes more apparent. The final stretch leads to Sigüeiro, a significant town located on the banks of the Tambre River, crossed by a medieval bridge. Sigüeiro is the capital of Oroso's municipality and a modern locality with an extensive range of services. Its proximity to Santiago makes it the last stop for most Camino English pilgrims. The atmosphere in Sigüeiro is one of great anticipation, with walkers resting and preparing for the exciting final stage that will take them to the Plaza del Obradoiro.
