This stage enters the heart of Palentina Natural Park. The profile is a gentle ascent following the valley of the Pisuerga River. It's a journey of great beauty, with high mountain landscapes, riverbank forests and stone villages. The route is peaceful and allows for enjoying nature in its purest state. The destination is San Salvador de Cantamuda, a small town that hosts the Colegiata of San Salvador, one of Palentina's Romanesque jewels. It's an end to stage of great artistic and spiritual value, in an environment of absolute peace.
The stage between Cervera de Pisuerga and San Salvador de Cantamuda is a spectacular journey through the Palentine Mountain Natural Park. The road ascends the valley of the Pisuerga River, with a gentle but continuous climb. The landscape is breathtakingly beautiful, with the high peaks of the Cantabrian Mountains as a backdrop. The route runs through an area of great natural value, with beech and oak forests, and alpine meadows. It passes through small traditional villages such as Arbejal and Vañes. The end of the stage arrives in San Salvador de Cantamuda, the capital of La Pernía municipality.
