Stage Description

After the mountain, the road descends gently towards the great city of Burgos. The journey passes through the Sierra de Atapuerca, a place of great importance for the history of humanity. Arrival in Burgos, with its impressive Gothic cathedral, UNESCO World Heritage Site, is a monumental final stage. It's a day to enjoy the anticipation of arrival at one of the most important cities on the route.
The stage from San Juan de Ortega to Burgos is a 26 km journey that gently descends towards the great city of Burgos. The path starts at San Juan de Ortega (950 m) and follows a mostly descending profile, with some undulations, until the city of Burgos (850 m). The route passes through the Sierra de Atapuerca, a place of great importance for human history. It is an enjoyable walk that allows you to enjoy the scenery and arrive in time to explore the destination city. Arrival in Burgos, with its impressive Gothic cathedral, World Heritage Site, is a monumental final stage. This stage combines gentle exercise with rich historical experience, a perfect balance on the French Way.
