First cycling stage of the English Way from Ferrol, historic port of arrival of British, Scandinavian and Dutch pilgrims in the Middle Ages. The 30 km along the Ferrol estuary and go through the region of Ferrolterra and Eume, crossing rural villages and Atlantic forests. Betanzos is one of the most beautiful historical-artistic sites in Galicia, with medieval streets and the famous Betanzos omelette. Stage of moderate profile with some demanding steep slopes.
The stage from O Cebreiro to Samos is a 30km journey that descends from the Ancares mountain range into the valley of the Sarria river. The route starts in O Cebreiro (1300m) and follows a mainly descending profile, with some wavy sections, until the town of Samos (500m). The route passes through a beautiful landscape, with forests and meadows. It is a peaceful and easy walk that allows you to enjoy the scenery and arrive on time to explore the destination town. The arrival in Samos, with its impressive Benedictine monastery, is a monumental finale. This stage combines gentle exercise with rich historical experience, achieving perfect balance on the Camino Francés.
