Stage Description
This stage enters the Campo Charro Salmantino, a region of pastures and cattle farms in the open countryside. The profile is a continuous rise and fall over a landscape of gentle hills, in a beautiful scenery. It's a long and solitary day with few intermediate services that requires good planning. The route runs along real trails and dirt tracks, in an authentic environment. Arrival at San Pedro de Rozados, a small cattle village, offers a well-deserved rest in the heart of Salmantina countryside.
The stage that connects Fuenterroble of Salvatierra with San Pedro de Rozados is a long journey through the Campo Charro, Salamanca's premier cattle region. The landscape is dominated by oak woodlands where cows and, on occasion, bullfighting bulls graze. The profile of the stage is a continuous "rocky terrain", with gentle but constant undulations adding up to considerable elevation changes. The route runs along dirt tracks and ancient trails, in an area of great beauty and solitude. Intermediate services are scarce, so it's essential to bring water and food. It's a day to enjoy the landscape, silence, and feeling of being in an ancestral territory. Arrival at San Pedro de Rozados, a small village that preserves traditional architecture from the area, marks the end of the stage.
