Stage Description
Stage of the Vía de la Plata that culminates in Salamanca. The 24 km link the small town of San Pedro de Rozados with the university city through the region of Salamanca Armuña, a landscape of cereal fields and oak groves. The arrival in Salamanca through the Tejares district and the entrance to the historic center by the Tormes River and the Roman bridge is one of the memorable moments of the Via. Salamanca, a World Heritage Site, is home to the oldest university in Spain (1218), the two cathedrals and the baroque Plaza Mayor.
