Stage Description
This stage crosses the border between Andalusia and Extremadura through the dehesa of Los Pedroches. The 30 km link Hinojosa del Duque (Córdoba) with Monterrubio de la Serena (Badajoz) through a landscape of endless pasture. Monterrubio is famous for its oil fair and is located in the region of La Serena in Badajoz, land of pastures, merino cattle and the famous Serena cheese.
This stage says goodbye to the Páramo plain and ventures into a terrain of gentle undulations that anticipates the arrival at the mountain. The path rises a small cruise from where you can see nearby Astorga. The route traverses a transition landscape, with fields of cultivation and small forests.
