This long stage is an authentic challenge that takes the pilgrim to the shores of the Gironde estuary. The route is very demanding due to its distance and undulating profile. Arrival in Blaye is a monumental reward. Its citadel, built by Vauban and UNESCO World Heritage Site, is one of France's most impressive fortifications. It's an overcoming stage that culminates in a first-class destination.
The Mirambeau to Blaye stage is a long 45-kilometer journey that brings the pilgrim to the shores of the Gironde estuary. The route starts in Mirambeau (50m) and follows a mainly descending profile, with some undulations, until the city of Blaye (10m). The route passes through a beautiful landscape, with vineyards and views of the estuary. It is an demanding walk due to its length, but it rewards with the beauty of its scenery and the monumentality of the destination. Arrival in Blaye is a moment of great excitement.
