Stage Description
This stage continues across the Manchegan plain, in a flat and easy terrain. The landscape remains dominated by fields of cultivation. The main attraction of the journey is the arrival at Tembleque, one of the most beautiful villages in Castile-La Mancha. Its Plaza Mayor, with popular Baroque style and declared a Cultural Interest Site, is one of the most original and spectacular in Spain. It's a monumental stop that surprises and charms the pilgrim.
The journey that unites Miguel Esteban with Tembleque is a flat stage that has as its reward one of the architectural treasures of La Mancha. The route runs through a landscape of cereal fields and vineyards. Arrival in Tembleque is the day's climax. Its main square is a masterpiece of popular architecture from the 17th century. Of square plan, it is porticoed with wooden columns and corridors on the upper floor, which served as stages for festivities. Its harmony and beauty are overwhelming. In addition to the square, Tembleque also has other monuments of interest, such as the church of Our Lady of the Assumption. It is a must-see stop on the Levante Route.
