Stage Description
This stage is a total immersion in the Land of the Meadows. The route is completely flat and runs along dirt paths that cross a sea of cereal fields. It's a day of great solitude and austere beauty, ideal for meditation. The route passes through small adobe villages like Berrueces. The destination is Villalón de Campos, an important regional center with a beautiful Main Square and an interesting Gothic roll.
The stage that connects Medina de Rioseco with Villalón de Campos is a pure Land of Campos journey. The profile is completely flat, and the road advances along earth tracks that get lost in the horizon. The landscape is an immense cereal plain, dotted with small adobe villages and some stables, typical constructions of the region. It's a stage of great solitude, ideal for introspection. Arrival at Villalón de Campos marks the end of the stage. This important village, with great agricultural and livestock tradition, has one of the most beautiful Main Squares in the area, with its wooden galleries. Its jurisdictional role, in Gothic style, is one of the most spectacular in Castile and León. It's a stopover with a strong flavor of traditional Castilian town.
