Stage of the Camino

Stage Description

This stage continues across the Manchegan plain. The profile is flat and the landscape is dominated by vineyards. It's a transition day that brings the pilgrim to the heart of the region. Arrival in Alpera, a town with an important rock art site, the Cueva de la Vieja, declared a World Heritage Site, offers a final stage of cultural value incalculable.
The stage that joins Almansa with Alpera is a gentle profile day that ventures into the Monte Ibérico-Corredor of Almansa region. The landscape is dominated by the extensive vineyards of the D.O. Almansa. The great attraction of the stage is its destination. Alpera is famous for hosting the Cave of the Old, one of the most important Levantine rock art sites in the peninsula, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Visiting the cave is an unique experience, a journey to prehistory. Additionally, Alpera has an interesting museum and a beautiful church. It's a final stage culturally very rich.
