Stage Description
This stage enters the Tierra de Campos region, the heart of the Meseta. The route is flat and monotonous, a challenge for the pilgrim's mind. Arrival in Frómista is monumental compensation. Its church of San Martín, one of Europe's Romanesque jewels, is a must-see visit. It is a physically demanding day that is widely rewarded with an end loaded with art and history.
The Castrojeriz to Frómista stage is a 25km journey that enters the Tierra de Campos region. The trail starts at Castrojeriz (790m) and follows a mainly flat profile with a gentle descent towards Frómista (780m). The route passes through a beautiful landscape, with fields of grain and endless horizons. It's an enjoyable walk that allows you to appreciate the scenery and the tranquility of the surroundings. Arrival in Frómista is monumental compensation. Its church of San Martín, one of Europe's Romanesque jewels, is a must-visit. This stage combines gentle exercise with rich artistic experience, perfect balance on the French Way.
