This stage moves away from the coast to venture into the interior of Minho. The route is a continuous up and down through a landscape of forests and hills. It's a day of great beauty and physical demand. Arrival in Viana do Castelo, one of Portugal's most beautiful cities, with its Sanctuary of Santa Luzia and historic center, is monumental reward. This stage puts the pilgrim to the test, but rewards with a dream destination.
