Stage Description
This stage has as its destination the spectacular city of Cuenca. The profile is predominantly descending, a pleasant walk that approaches the capital. Emotion grows as the gorges of the Júcar and Huécar rivers are seen. Arrival in Cuenca, a World Heritage City, with its Hanging Houses, San Pablo Bridge, and cathedral, is one of the great rewards of the pilgrimage to central Spain.
This long stage enters the Serranía of Cuenca. The profile is very demanding, a continuous "rocky terrain" through a beautiful and solitary landscape. The destination is the monumental city of Cuenca, World Heritage Site, with its Hanging Houses, San Pablo Bridge, and cathedral, one of the great rewards of the pilgrimage to central Spain.
