The journey between Vilarinho and Barcelos is one of the most representative sections of the Portuguese Way. The route is a continuous rise and fall over the hills of the Minho region, in a landscape of great beauty. The path is dotted with small villages, baroque churches and stone crosses. One walks on a mix of trails, paved roads and local highways. One of the standout points is the medieval bridge at Zameiro. Arrival in Barcelos is the day's big prize.
