Stage of the Camino
Stage Description
This stage has as its destination the monumental city of Toledo. The profile is a continuous rise and fall through the cypress trees, the noble estates surrounding the city. Emotion grows as the silhouette of Toledo comes into view, perched on a hill over the Tajo River. The entry into "The City of Three Cultures", with its Alcázar, Cathedral, and maze of streets, is an unforgettable reward and one of the great milestones of the pilgrimage through central Spain.
This stage is a journey to the heart of Don Quixote's La Mancha. The route is flat and monotonous at times, a landscape of cereal fields and vineyards. The arrival in Socuéllamos, a village with a rich heritage and great Jacobean tradition, is an end-of-stage finale with charm. It's a day to enjoy the tranquility of the countryside and universal literature.
