Stage of the Camino
Stage Description
This stage crosses the border between the Valencian Community and Aragon, entering the Teruel region of Gúdar-Javalambre. The 20 km run through the Iberian high plateau (over 1,000 m altitude) between oak pine forests and cereal fields. Sarrión is internationally famous for its black truffles, capital of the Black Diamond of Teruel with one of the largest concentrations of truffles in Spain.
This stage is a journey to the heart of Don Quixote's La Mancha. The route is flat and monotonous at times, a landscape of cereal fields and vineyards. Arrival in Socuéllamos, a village with a rich heritage and great Jacobean tradition, is an end-of-stage finale with charm. It's a day to enjoy the tranquility of the countryside and universal literature.
