Discover Cañaveral
Canaveral is a small town with great tradition in the Via de la Plata, serving as an important service point on a stretch with few populations. Its main street, which coincides with the route, concentrates the life of the town and the offer for the pilgrim. Surrounded by the characteristic landscape of the Extremaduran heathland, with oaks and holm oaks, it offers an ideal natural environment for rest. The church of Santa Marina and the hermitage of San Roque are its main monuments. For the walker, Canaveral is a functional and welcoming stop, a place to replenish strength, stock up and share experiences before tackling the ascent to the Castaños port and continuing on to the historic Roman city of Cáparra.
