Discover Hospital de Bruma
The Hospital of Bruma, a small and serene parish in the municipality of Mesía, is a vital point on the English Way. Its own name reveals its historical function: to host a pilgrim hospital founded in the 12th century, to provide shelter and assistance to walkers arriving from A Coruña and Ferrol ports. It is here, in this quiet rural haven, where the two variants of the English Way converge, uniting pilgrims on a single path towards Santiago de Compostela. For the modern pilgrim, reaching Bruma is finding an oasis of peace after the first stages. The pilgrim hostel, managed by the Xunta of Galicia, continues to keep alive that spirit of hospitality. Surrounded by green fields, forests, and small villages, this place offers a genuine connection with the essence of the Camino: hospitality, rest, and camaraderie. Despite modest services, its historical significance and tranquil atmosphere make it a memorable and necessary stop on the route to Santiago.
