Discover Mansilla de las Mulas

Mansilla de las Mulas, a historic village on the banks of the River Esla, is an important Jacobean crossroads. It is the final stage of the Ruta Vadiniense route, which comes from the Picos de Europa, and a fundamental stop on the Camino Francés, just before arriving at the great city of León. Its confluence character gives it a very special pilgrim atmosphere. The village preserves much of its impressive medieval wall, inviting visitors to take a stroll around its perimeter. Its old town, with the Plaza del Grano and its arches, transports travelers back in time. For pilgrims, Mansilla is an oasis of services and hospitality, with good hostels and local Leonesan cuisine where the region's tomato stands out. The Museum of Leonese Peoples, located in the former Monastery of San Agustín, offers an interesting view of local ethnography. It is a perfect place for rest, sharing experiences with walkers from various routes, and preparing mentally and physically for the triumphant entry into León, the capital of the ancient kingdom.
