The Town

Discover Navarrenx

Navarrenx is one of the most spectacular stops on the Via Podiensis. This 14th-century fortified settlement was reinforced in the 16th century with an impressive system of bastioned walls, making it one of the first fortified cities of this type in France. For pilgrims, crossing its gates and strolling along its walls is a journey through military history. The village, classified as one of "The Most Beautiful Towns of France", offers an animated atmosphere, all services, and well-preserved heritage. It is the last major fortress before the Pyrenees, a stop to marvel at military engineering and enjoy Béarnese culture.
