Salamanca, the "Golden City" for the color of its Villamayor stone, is one of the most dazzling and culturally rich stops on the Silver Route. Declared a World Heritage Site, its vibrant energy, born from its historic university, blends with an unparalleled monumental heritage. The heart of the city is its Plaza Mayor, considered one of Spain's most beautiful squares and a perfect place for weary pilgrims to rest.
