Tembleque

The Jewel of La Mancha. Tembleque surprises on the Southeastern Route with its spectacular Baroque Plaza Mayor, one of the most beautiful and original in Spain.

Discover Tembleque

Tembleque is an unforgettable stop on the Southeastern Way thanks to its extraordinary Main Square. This square, of a quadrangular plan and with immaculate white walls, is a masterpiece of 17th-century popular baroque architecture. Its two-level wooden galleries, painted green and adorned with the coats of arms of the Order of Saint John of Jerusalem, create an unique scenic space that served as both a comedy corral and bullring. For pilgrims, sitting here to rest is a true privilege. The rest of the town retains great charm, with the Church of the Assumption and the House of Towers. A must-see for art and popular architecture lovers.
