Stage Description
First full stage in Asturias. The route of about 23 km runs along the eastern coast of Asturias between meadows, coastal forests and bufones (karst formations that expel water under pressure with the rough sea). The landscape is characteristic of eastern Asturias, with the Sierra del Cuera as a backdrop. Llanes is one of the most beautiful fishing villages in Asturias, with its historic port, the Cubos de la Memoria (an artistic intervention by Ibarrola) and its walled old town.
This stage enters the eastern coast of Asturias. The route is a continuous rise and fall through a landscape of green meadows, cliffs, and spectacular beaches. It's a day of great beauty that allows you to enjoy the essence of Asturian coastline. Arrival in Llanes, one of the most beautiful and lively coastal towns in Asturias, with its port, medieval old town, and urban beaches, is an unbeatable reward.
