Stage Description
Stage of the Camino dos Faros along the estuary of Corme and Laxe. The 25 km run along spectacular coastal paths, bordering beaches such as Ermida and the mobile dune of Razo. Laxe is a fishing port with white sailor houses, Gothic church of Santa Maria (15th century) and a historic center linked to the sea. The stage allows to contemplate the Roncudo cape, famous for its barnacles.
The Azambuja to Santarém stage is a 33 km long journey that ventures into the heart of Ribatejo. The trail starts in Azambuja (20 m) and follows an undulating profile, with a gentle ascent towards Santarém (80 m). The route traverses a beautiful landscape, featuring the lezíria, the alluvial plain of the Tagus, as its main protagonist. It is an demanding walk due to its length, but it rewards with the beauty of its scenery and the monumental grandeur of the destination. Arrival in Santarém, the Gothic capital of Portugal, is a moment of great emotion. It's a stage of great effort that is rewarded with a monumental finish.
