The port of Somport, nestled in the heart of the Pyrenees, marks the beginning of the historic Aragonese Way, one of the oldest and most beautiful Jacobean routes, offering an alternative to the more crowded Roncesvalles pass. This border crossing between Spain and France, at 1,632 meters above sea level, has been a fundamental communication route since Roman times, as evidenced by the remains of the road.
