Stage of the Camino

Stage Description

This long stage enters the heart of La Mancha. The profile is mostly flat. The landscape is that of the Manchegan plain, with its fields of cereal and vineyards. The great incentive of the journey is the arrival at Consuegra, one of the icons of La Mancha. Its Calderico hill, crowned by twelve windmills and an imposing medieval castle, forms one of Spain's most famous scenes. It is a compulsory stop on Don Quixote's route.
This stage enters the Beauce plain, "France's granary", a flat and monotonous route at times, a landscape of fields and endless horizons. The arrival in La Roda, a village with a rich heritage and great Jacobean tradition, is an end-of-stage finale with charm. This stage puts the pilgrim to the test, but rewards it with the beauty of its landscapes and a dream destination.
