Stage Description
This stage descends from the Alcarreña plateau to approach the Tajo valley. The profile is predominantly descending. The landscape changes, and the dry fields of the secano give way to fertile river valleys. Arrival at Estremera, a village with a rich heritage and great history, marks the end of the journey. It's an episode of contrasts that combines the aridity of the plateau with the lushness of the valley.
The route that connects Fuentenovilla with Estremera is a descent stage that takes the pilgrim from the Alcarria plateau to the Tajo River valley. The profile is very favorable, allowing for comfortable walking. The landscape changes as one descends, and the fields of grain give way to orchards and riverine forests. Arrival in Estremera, once again in the Community of Madrid, marks the end of the stage. This village, situated on the Tajo Riverbanks, boasts an interesting heritage, including its parish church and the remains of its castle. It is a place with all necessary services for the pilgrim and a very welcoming atmosphere.
