The Town

Discover Baena

Baena is one of the world's major olive oil virgin extra capitals, and an indispensable stop for foodies on the Mozárabe Route. Located in the Cordoban countryside, the city is surrounded by a sea of olives and is the heart of the Denominación de Origen Baena. Pilgrims can visit almazaras and the Olive Oil Museum and Oil. In addition to its olive oil richness, Baena has a notable historical heritage in its old quarter of Almedina, with Gothic churches and remains of its castle. Its Holy Week, with "Jews of Blanched White and White", is singular. It's a stop to recharge forces with the flavors of the land and Andalusian culture.
