The path enters into Extremaduran heathland, in a landscape of oak trees and pastures. Arrival at Casar de Cáceres is a delight for the senses. This town is the birthplace of one of Spain's most famous cheeses: Torta del Casar. It's a creamy cheese made from raw Merina sheep milk that is eaten spread on bread.
