Tolosa

Tolosa, one of Gipuzkoa's most important historic villages, is a fundamental stop on the Vasco Interior Way. Situated in a wide valley by the Oria River, it was an important commercial and political center. For pilgrims, Tolosa offers a well-conserved medieval quarter with narrow streets, squares, and buildings of great interest such as Santa Maria Church and Aranburu Palace. The village is especially famous for its weekly market, which takes place on Saturdays in the Tinglado, a perfect spot to immerse oneself in local culture and taste the products of the land. Its cuisine is another of its major attractions, being the birthplace of the famous "alubia de Tolosa" and sweet treats like "tejas and cigarrillos".
